According to the basic survey on employment structure in 2017, 66 million people indicating the total number of working people was increased by 1.79 million since the previous survey (12 years ago).
Non-regular workers such as part-time, fixed term contract, and temporary worker dispatch etc. increased by 900 thousand, to 213.3 million people, the largest number ever.
It seems that the generation of baby-boomers with a large population retired from retirement age(age 60-70), and the number of cases of reemployment due to fixed term contracts and temporary staffing increased.
